Maersk will introduce a new Aruba import container fee of US$1,000 from October 15, 2026, according to a published tariff notice reported locally.
New charges cover dry and refrigerated containers
The US$1,000 terminal-handling charge applies to containers arriving in Aruba from international origins. Containers moving from Aruba to destinations elsewhere will carry a US$360 charge.
Both dry and refrigerated containers are included. Maersk attributed the revised tariff structure to higher port and operating costs, and said it will remain in effect until changed.
Importers may face higher logistics costs
Aruba depends heavily on maritime imports for consumer goods. The new handling charge will increase logistics costs for importers, although the source did not establish how much of that cost may ultimately be reflected in retail prices.
