An Aruba housing proposal from MEP parliamentarian Dangui Oduber would explore digital financial tools as part of efforts to make home ownership more accessible, according to 24ora’s October 19 report.
Remittance system proposed for study
Under the initiative called Bo Cas, Bo Soño, Oduber proposes investigating a digital remittance system that could reduce transfer costs. He suggested that state revenue generated through such a system could support a housing subsidy fund, subject to appropriate financial supervision.
Digital assets in mortgage assessments
Oduber also argued that verified digital assets could be considered when assessing a young applicant’s financial capacity for a mortgage, under clear rules and strict oversight.
24ora reported that he intends to develop the initiative as a legislative proposal. The account describes proposals, not an approved remittance service, mortgage rule or housing benefit.
