Aruba police patrols will increase in the coming period, Commissioner Ramon Arnhem announced following several recent shooting incidents, according to 24ora’s October 19 report.
Targeted intelligence and investigations
Arnhem said the Aruba Police Force will combine a stronger visible street presence with targeted intelligence and investigative work to identify and arrest those responsible. He said investigators are seeking everyone involved, not only whoever fired a weapon.
Commissioner addresses community concern
Speaking on behalf of the force, Arnhem offered condolences after the weekend shooting in which a mother of two young children died. He acknowledged public grief and insecurity and said police were committed to responding.
The announcement concerns the planned policing response. It did not provide a patrol timetable, deployment numbers or new confirmed arrests.
