ORANJESTAD (AAN) – FCCA Director Julie Wever delivered the opening speech for the Aruba Doet 2026 project, highlighting the importance of volunteerism, community partnerships, and neighborhood development across Aruba.
During the ceremony held in the FCCA neighborhood of Bushiri-Seroe Patrishi, Wever said Aruba Doet represents more than community improvement projects because it also strengthens cooperation and unity among residents, organizations, and volunteers.
She emphasized that Aruba Doet demonstrates how communities can achieve meaningful results when people work together toward a common goal.
According to Wever, improving neighborhoods is not only about infrastructure and buildings but also about strengthening relationships between families, residents, and local communities.
She stated that initiatives like Aruba Doet help create safer, cleaner, and more connected neighborhoods while improving the overall quality of life for residents.
Wever also highlighted the continued collaboration between FCCA, CEDE Aruba, and the University of Aruba, noting that students and local organizations have contributed to positive community changes for several years.
During the event, FCCA and CEDE Aruba officially announced plans to strengthen cooperation on future community projects and social initiatives.
