The Aruba Brothers Memorial Project is being developed to honor the religious brothers who lived and worked in Aruba, according to Eugene Boderie, President of Stichting Huize de la Salle.
The initiative, planned for 2027, includes the creation of a monument, a commemorative book, and a documentary highlighting the lives and lasting contributions of the brothers. Boderie emphasized their major influence on Aruba’s education system, cultural development, music, and sports, describing them as a bridge between the past and the future.
The total project budget is estimated at Afl. 495,000, covering the monument, book, documentary, and contingency costs. Funding will be raised through community support, crowdfunding, local and international institutions, and cultural funds in Aruba and the Netherlands. The foundation aims to secure full funding by the end of December to begin implementation.
