The Aruba Tourism Authority has honored the Amayra Boekhoudt tourism career as she retires after more than four decades in the island’s tourism industry.
Career included resort and tourism-authority roles
According to the ATA announcement, Boekhoudt worked for 10 years at Divi Resort and Dutch Village before joining work connected with the airport database in 1992. She later served in special events, public relations and trade relations roles at the tourism authority.
ATA credits a broad professional and community legacy
The organization said Boekhoudt contributed to conferences, festivals, sporting events and partner programs while mentoring colleagues. It also highlighted her support for community projects, including holiday gift collections, food and clothing assistance, animal-welfare initiatives and Carnival coordination. ATA chief executive Ronella Croes said Boekhoudt leaves a professional and human legacy in Aruba tourism.
