The Arspa RDA court dispute over work at Aruba’s refinery has been paused while the two sides make another attempt to reach an agreement.
Judge sets a September 30 reporting deadline
EA News reported that Arspa brought summary proceedings against Refineria di Aruba, claiming payment for work on two tanks and the refinery pier. The contractor says the total unpaid amount is 14 million florins. RDA disputes that figure, questions the amount and quality of completed work, and says parts of the wider project have not begun.
The judge postponed the case and instructed the parties to report by September 30, 2026, on whether they have reached a concrete agreement. If they do not, the court is expected to set a date for a ruling.
Independent technical review is under discussion
The reports say a possible settlement could include appointing an independent expert to evaluate completed work and plan the remaining tasks. Arspa says it is willing to continue working, while RDA has raised concerns about performance and confidence in the contractor. These remain the parties’ respective positions; the court has not ruled on the merits of the payment claim.
