Health and household costs push index higher
Eight of the 12 sectors recorded monthly price increases. CBS identifies health, up 4.4%, household operation, up 1.1%, and transport, up 0.4%, among the main contributors. Recreation and culture fell 0.7%, partly offsetting those increases. The 12-month-average inflation measure was 1.3%, distinct from the 3.0% year-on-year rate.
Subsistence amounts rise from August
CBS lists the monthly subsistence level as Afl. 2,700 for one adult and Afl. 5,669 for two adults and two children. Those figures compare with Afl. 2,697 and Afl. 5,663 in August. They are household-type estimates of basic costs, not every household’s actual spending or a new legally enacted minimum wage.
