Aruba investment plans need sufficient technical and administrative capacity to turn available money into completed projects, CAft member Marion Agunbero told NoticiaCla in an interview reported on October 30.
Moving from plans to delivery
Agunbero said the General Investment and Development Fund, or AIOF, could be important to Aruba’s development. She stressed that funding alone does not ensure timely delivery and called for stronger preparation, organization and execution of investment projects, particularly infrastructure.
Public-company risks also raised
In a companion report from the same interview, Agunbero said some public companies have reserves to absorb financial difficulties while others face longstanding structural problems. She did not identify which companies were in difficulty. She emphasized corporate-governance legislation and oversight because public-enterprise risks could ultimately affect government and the community. These are attributed interview statements, not findings that a named company is insolvent.
