An Aruban man identified as Kendrick J., 38, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison by the Overijssel court in the Netherlands for killing Sahra Said, 43, according to 24ora. The outlet reports that the ruling was issued on October 29 and included €107,500 in compensation to the victim’s family.
Court did not find premeditation proved
Prosecutors sought an 18-year sentence for premeditated murder, but the court found intentional homicide, known in Dutch law as doodslag, proved instead. The report says the sentence also covers assaults in a separate Limburg incident. Police found the victim at the defendant’s Enschede home in March 2025.
Prior Aruba convictions cited in sentencing
According to the court account carried by 24ora, the judges considered earlier violent-crime convictions in Aruba and substantial time previously spent in prison there. A co-defendant was acquitted of involvement in the killing but received a separate sentence for attempted serious assault. The report does not establish a drug dispute as the motive, and no such motive is asserted here.
