An opposition lawmaker has questioned project financing and public priorities in the proposed Aruba investment plan before Parliament.
Questions focus on projects without current financing
MEP parliamentarian Dangui Oduber argued that Parliament is being asked to approve projects even though funding is not currently available for several of them. According to 24ora, he said the government should explain how projects listed in the investment fund will receive financial coverage.
Oduber characterized the approach as illogical and called for clearer decisions about which needs should receive priority.
Health care and cost pressures cited
His intervention also raised concerns about hospital finances, the availability of medical supplies and the effect of rising living costs on household purchasing power.
Oduber referenced projected government surpluses while arguing that public funds should address services people experience directly. The statements are opposition criticism from the parliamentary debate; the cited report did not include a detailed government response or final financing decision.
