Proyecto AWE has completed its first vocational program focused on barbering, awarding certificates to 11 young participants who finished four practical workshops in Aruba.
Four sessions built practical barbering skills
The workshops took place on September 7, 14, 21 and 28 for participants between 16 and 35 years old. The course combined hands-on barbering practice with guidance about the profession, employment possibilities and the steps involved in starting a small business.
Each graduate also received a starter kit so the newly learned techniques can be practised and developed after the course.
Training connected talent with opportunity
STASH owner Alcides Marin delivered the course and shared professional experience with the group. Minister Wendrick Cicilia thanked Marin and congratulated the participants for their dedication and perseverance.
Proyecto AWE is intended to help young people develop practical skills, prepare for employment, explore entrepreneurship or continue their education. The program presents community-based training as a bridge between talent and longer-term opportunity.
