Mia Weststrate has earned a distinction in the ABRSM Grade 1 Piano Examination, the highest result category available at that level.
Grade 1 exam ends with top result category
Mia Rose Weststrate recently received her official certificate from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. ABRSM awards a distinction to candidates who score between 130 and 150 points.
The assessment recognizes a student’s performance, technique, musical understanding and development at the relevant exam level.
Lessons began when Mia was five
Mia started piano lessons at Allegro Piano Studio at age five. Her preparation for the examination included weekly lessons, regular practice at home and ongoing support from her teacher and family.
The studio said the result reflects a gradual learning process built on discipline, concentration, independence, confidence and perseverance.
Teacher praises consistent preparation
Johnny Croes, founder and teacher at Allegro Piano Studio, said he was proud of Mia’s work and development. Croes has more than 25 years of experience teaching music in Aruba and views international ABRSM assessments as a structured way for students to measure progress.
