Fundacion ABO is launching an island-wide campaign encouraging eligible residents to schedule mammograms and communities to make breast screening more visible throughout October.
The Make Aruba Pink breast screening initiative is connected to BOB, the foundation’s national breast-cancer screening program. It will bring activities into workplaces, schools, health organizations and public spaces.
More than 100 organizations are participating
Fundacion ABO says more than 100 businesses, organizations and locations have agreed to participate. The campaign is designed to place a practical reminder about screening in everyday settings.
Members of the public are invited to wear pink, display ribbons, decorate workplaces, involve colleagues and discuss screening with relatives, friends and neighbours.
Eligible residents encouraged to book mammograms
The campaign’s central request is for people who qualify for screening to make a mammogram appointment. Fundacion ABO also plans BOB activities during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
