An Aruba information access event on September 28 will mark the International Day for Universal Access to Information and open the exhibition “Letra y Consenshi: Balor Humano di un Pueblo.”
Program examines trustworthy information
According to 24ora, the 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. program at Post Aruba includes speakers from UNESCO Aruba, Post Aruba, the National Archives and the National Library discussing access to information, archives and reliable material in a crowded digital environment.
UNESCO’s 2026 theme emphasizes information integrity in the digital era. Organizers say access alone is not enough when material lacks verification, context or a connection to authentic records.
Exhibition connects archives with Aruba’s past
“Letra y Consenshi” presents documents and accounts connected with slavery and emancipation in Aruba. The project brings together Aruba’s Memory of the World committee, UNESCO Aruba, the national library, the national archives, archive-support groups and Post Aruba. The public is invited to attend.
