The Aruba Food & Beverage Association has launched a 2026 study to measure staffing demand, training requirements and tourism carrying capacity across the island’s food and beverage industry.
The Aruba workforce survey is being conducted with VIAMOON Consultancy and Connect2Teach.us, with sponsorship from the Aruba Tourism Authority. Both AF&BA members and non-member food and beverage businesses are invited to take part.
Study will measure staffing pressures
AF&BA says the anonymous and confidential survey is intended to create a clearer, data-based picture of the industry’s current position. It will examine staff shortages, the availability of workers, talent needs and how those factors affect business operations and growth.
The study will also assess business confidence, concerns, expectations and growth prospects. AF&BA says the results should help identify trends and opportunities for collaboration, training and workforce development.
Results will guide future initiatives
The research instrument was designed by Dr. Earney F. Lasten using a framework from his doctoral research. AF&BA chief executive Miriam Dabian said staffing shortages are widely reported across the sector but have not previously been measured systematically alongside sustainable visitor capacity.
The association expects the findings to inform future projects, including a planned employment and recruitment platform connecting member businesses with potential workers. The results will be compiled into a formal report for AF&BA, its industry partners and relevant stakeholders.
Participants can complete the survey in physical or digital form, and it is expected to take approximately eight to 12 minutes. AF&BA says verification mechanisms are built into the process to support data quality.
