ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Cost of Living for Aruba Family Rises by Afl.130 in One Year, according to the latest figures released by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), showing that essential household expenses continue to increase across the island.
CBS reports that the minimum monthly cost of living for a household consisting of two adults and two children has reached Afl. 5,639, an increase of Afl. 130 compared with June 2025.
The increase was driven primarily by higher prices in several essential spending categories.
The largest increases were recorded in:
- Food and non-alcoholic beverages: +Afl. 81
- Transportation: +Afl. 32
Meanwhile, the cost of clothing and footwear declined by Afl. 16, partially offsetting the overall increase in household expenses.
For a single adult, CBS calculated the monthly minimum cost of living at Afl. 2,685.
CBS emphasized that the minimum cost of living represents the estimated income required to cover basic necessities, including food, housing, clothing, transportation, and other essential daily expenses.
The updated figures provide an important benchmark for understanding household affordability and the financial resources needed to meet basic living standards in Aruba.
