ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Stichting Rancho has announced a major milestone with the unveiling of its own boat, “Rancho Awo,” during the 16th Aruba International Regatta, taking place from July 10 to 12 at Surfside Beach.
According to Stichting Rancho President Clifford Rosa, acquiring the boat fulfills a dream that has taken 16 years to achieve. The project was made possible through financial support from the Dutch Cultural Participation Fund.
Rosa said the vessel will play an important role in preserving Aruba’s maritime heritage, supporting miniature boat racing and other cultural initiatives planned by the foundation. He noted that maritime traditions, fishing and seafaring form an essential part of Stichting Rancho’s mission.
The regatta features traditional miniature boat races, a long-standing Aruban maritime tradition that the foundation continues to promote and preserve. Organizers have invited families and the wider community to attend the weekend event, which concludes with a closing celebration featuring live entertainment.
Stichting Rancho said the new boat represents both a symbol of cultural pride and a commitment to preserving Aruba’s maritime traditions for future generations.
