Scouting Aruba held a 24-hour national JOTA–JOTI programme at Briyo Di Solo over the weekend, according to an October 21 report by Diario.
Radio and internet connect scouts
Verkenners and Explorers took part under the theme “Mind Builders – Strong Minds, Connected World.” JOTA–JOTI connects scouts internationally through radio and the internet, the report explained.
The programme combined those connections with activities centred on communication, critical thinking, perseverance and teamwork.
Patrols work together on shared challenges
Friday evening’s programme included six night missions and a campfire reflection. Further activities on Saturday included a 90-minute Mind Builders Quest in which patrols shared information and combined their contributions to complete a common challenge.
The report also described a community-service component. It does not give separate calendar dates for the weekend programme.
