ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Sindicato TOPA expressed concern over the working conditions at Directie Arbeid en Onderzoek (DAO), highlighting serious health and safety issues affecting employees.
Vilma Thijsen, Secretary of TOPA, stated that despite the presence of the International Labour Organization (ILO) office in Aruba, local employee safety concerns are not being addressed adequately. Several labor agreements still await ratification, and the union stresses that government attention is overdue.
Thijsen emphasized that TOPA fully supports the workers and continues to advocate for proper health and safety measures to protect employees’ well-being and ensure compliance with international labor standards.
