ORANJESTAD (AAN): Authorities have confirmed that a space in the hospital previously used for preparing certain medications is no longer suitable. Immediately, in cooperation with the hospital and government, affected medications will now be prepared at a local pharmacy. Another portion will be prepared with support from CMC Curaçao and transported to Aruba with the cooperation of Aruba and Curaçao customs, as well as Inspectie Volksgezondheid.
The old space will no longer be used. A new dedicated area is scheduled for delivery by August 2026 as part of the hospital’s ongoing renovation and expansion project, which started in 2013. The current government, through the Minister responsible for Public Health, Social Affairs, Elder Care, and Addiction Management, is coordinating with the hospital and SOGA to complete the pending facilities, including opening the main entrance and finishing other sections of the hospital.
A temporary solution ensures continuity of service while the new space is finalized. The public can be assured that all necessary measures are being taken to guarantee medication safety and quality. This effort underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining high standards of medical care in Aruba.
