The latest Accion di Bario initiative took place in Rooi Afo and Seroe Preto, focusing on community cleanliness, local production, and strengthening neighborhood values.
During the event, Prime Minister Mike Eman visited several local initiatives and organizations to better understand community needs and recognize positive efforts that contribute to the wellbeing of residents.
The Accion di Bario program began with a special recognition ceremony honoring Robert Maduro for his contributions to Aruba’s music and culture. Prime Minister Eman presented Maduro with a commemorative plaque at the home of Henrika Boekhoudt, where family members, friends, and community supporters gathered for the tribute.
One of the most notable outcomes of the Accion di Bario was a large-scale cleanup effort coordinated by Serlimar and the Bureau City Inspector. Significant amounts of waste were collected during the operation, highlighting both the need for continued environmental initiatives and the importance of maintaining clean neighborhoods.
As part of the community tour, Prime Minister Eman also visited a local farmer and a honey producer. The visits showcased local watermelon production and emphasized the vital role bees play in supporting Aruba’s environment and agricultural sustainability.
The Accion di Bario initiative also included a visit to Fundacion Centro Famia Piedra Plat. During the visit, the Prime Minister learned more about programs designed to connect generations, strengthen family relationships, and encourage active community participation.
The visit included meetings with senior citizens and a tour of the foundation’s facilities, where various social and community programs are carried out.
According to organizers, Accion di Bario serves as an effective way for government representatives to maintain direct contact with residents, listen to concerns, and work together on practical solutions that improve quality of life within local neighborhoods.
