Taekwondo Team Aruba achieved a third-place overall ranking at the Master Cup Mónica Urrego, a prestigious international competition recently held in Medellin, Colombia.
The Aruban athletes competed against high-level contenders from around the world, successfully securing nine medals. The team’s performance included five gold medals, three silver medals, and one bronze medal. The tournament was a large-scale event, hosting 3,000 participants representing 44 different countries. Under the guidance of coach Master Antwuan Wilson, the team arrived well-prepared and utilized the opportunity to refine their techniques. The athletes expressed joy and pride in their results and the recognition they received on the international stage.
In the aftermath of the competition, Taekwondo Team Aruba extended its appreciation to the community members and partners who supported the trip. The organization specifically thanked the organizers of raffle sales and the motorists who contributed funds. They also acknowledged the Olympia Taekwondo Association Curaçao and Master Mónica Urrego for the invitation to compete in Medellin.
