ORANJESTAD (AAN) – The MEP fraction recently delivered two legal advisories to the Governor concerning Minister Gerlien Croes, asserting that the Minister has no legal exit regarding the “Jet Priva” case. This political activity follows reports that three ministers traveled to the Netherlands to attend a party financed by public funds, at a cost of more than 100,000 florins.
During parliamentary sessions, PPA fraction leader Eduard Pieters emphasized the need to rescue the essence of democracy by demanding an independent Parliament. He stated that the situation involving the private jet is not an insignificant matter. Additionally, Parliamentarian Dangui Oduber confronted Minister Croes and addressed the education sector, arguing that the core issue is a lack of action rather than a lack of vision.
Regarding HOFA legislation, the MEP fraction has continued its series of meetings with various guilds to discuss the Rijkswet HOFA. Unions are urging Parliament to place a stop on the proposed law. Parliamentarian Drs. Shailiny Tromp-Lee supported this dialogue, stating it is essential for guilds to be properly informed. Elsewhere, Parliamentarian Bermudez expressed satisfaction with the latest developments in the taxi sector, while also highlighting the possibility of the oil industry evolving into a second economic pillar for Aruba.
