Residents in Jucuri are expressing frustration over the persistent issue of sewage water overflowing onto public roads. It is prohibited by law to discharge sewage onto streets, yet the problem continues at the entrance of the Jucuri neighborhood, specifically on the road coming from Mahuma.
According to a local resident, the situation involves multiple wells overflowing, allowing wastewater to flow freely onto the asphalt. The resident noted that some individuals appear indifferent to the legality and hygiene risks involved.
“No person or authority is doing anything to solve this public problem,” the resident stated.
Citizens are appealing to relevant authorities, including the City Inspector (Dienst Stadsinspectie) and the Police, to investigate the matter and enforce a solution. The ongoing overflow poses a sanitation risk and requires immediate attention to ensure public safety and compliance with local health regulations.
