PM Eman’s Reforestation Project Advances

Aruba Reforestation Project: Within the framework of the national reforestation program, driven under the leadership of Prime Minister Mike Eman, beautification and tree planting has begun on the berm in front of the airport on Henny Eman Boulevard. The initiative is part of a broader vision to restore nature, strengthen biodiversity, and keep Aruba clean and sustainable. The project results from close cooperation between Aruba Airport Authority and various public partners. AAA has adopted the area, assuming financing for both planting and maintenance of vegetation. Based on technical advice from DNM, native tree species were selected that are suitable for the location, also taking into account aviation safety. For this reason, trees that attract large quantities of birds were avoided, opting for vegetation that contributes to biodiversity without affecting airport operations. The project will be implemented in two phases. During the first phase, tree planting and water connection installation will be carried out, while shrub planting will follow in a subsequent phase. A total of 46 trees will be planted in the first phase, including native species such as Wayaca Macho, Dabaruida, Ratonero, Taki, and Curahout.
