ORANJESTAD (AAN): A Dutch delegation from the National Restoration Fund recently visited Aruba to review the progress of the Cas Veneranda restoration project in Oranjestad.
The Cas Veneranda Restoration Aruba project, located on Wilhelminastraat, is a key initiative aimed at revitalizing the city center. The building, formerly known as the Papiamento Restaurant, is currently undergoing extensive renovation.
Minister Geoffrey Wever joined representatives including CEO Ugur Özcan, CFO Coen Reinders, and other officials, along with members of Stichting Monumentenfonds Aruba, for a guided tour led by director Anne Witsenburg.
During the visit, the delegation received a comprehensive overview of the restoration progress and the project’s role in urban renewal efforts.
The Cas Veneranda Restoration Aruba reflects the government’s commitment to preserving historical structures while contributing to economic and cultural revitalization.
An official reopening date for the fully restored building is expected to be announced soon.
