ORANJESTAD (AAN): Local divers continue fight efforts to control the spread of invasive lionfish, which pose a serious threat to marine ecosystems.

The Lionfish Control Aruba Efforts were recently highlighted by the Caribbean Lionfish Alliance, showing divers Kevin and Pim successfully capturing multiple lionfish during a dive.

Lionfish are an invasive species in the Caribbean and are known for damaging local marine life by preying on native fish and disrupting the natural balance of underwater ecosystems.

Through active removal, divers contribute to protecting Aruba’s coral reefs and marine biodiversity.

The Lionfish Control Aruba Efforts play an important role in preserving the island’s natural habitat and supporting long-term environmental sustainability.

Authorities and conservation groups continue to encourage such initiatives to reduce the impact of this invasive species.

The Lionfish Control Aruba Efforts demonstrate how individual action can make a meaningful difference in protecting marine life around the island.
