ORANJESTAD (AAN): The Savaneta Masquerade Parade 2026 will take place on Friday, February 6, as organized by Fundación Savaneta Prome Capital, according to information shared by foundation president Norman Thijsen.
In an interview with Matutino DIARIO, Thijsen confirmed that the foundation recently held the official coronation ceremony for its Carnival queens at MFA. These queens will lead the upcoming Savaneta Masquerade Parade 2026, representing the foundation and the Savaneta community.
The crowned queens are Julienne Schwengle as Señora Carnaval 2026, Kailani Zulema Schwengle as Reina di Carnaval 2026, Manon Kraaijkamp as Reina Hubenil, Leah Sophia Geerman as Reina Infantil, and Zinzy Rose Arends as Princesita Carnaval.
Thijsen emphasized that the queens selected for the Savaneta Masquerade Parade 2026 represent Fundación Savaneta specifically and will not participate in island-wide Carnival queen competitions. The focus remains on celebrating Savaneta’s local identity and traditions.
He added that the foundation’s goal is to revive the strong Carnival spirit that once defined Savaneta. While Carnival activity in the area declined for several years, the foundation is committed to rebuilding this tradition through community-based events that remain rooted in the region.
The Savaneta Masquerade Parade 2026 aims to bring residents together in a joyful and respectful atmosphere, honoring Carnival culture while strengthening community pride within Savaneta.
