ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AAN) — The Fundacion Rancho Ban Bek na Raiz tour has been announced as part of activities marking Foundation Day of Fundacion Rancho, celebrated annually on April 24.
During a press conference, Fundacion Rancho Director Clifford Rosa emphasized the importance of April 24 for the foundation and expressed the intention to firmly establish the date on Aruba’s Annual Cultural Calendar.
“This is a very important day for us, and we want to celebrate it in a creative way,” Rosa said. “More detailed information will follow, but the program will include a mini conference aimed at educating the community and deepening understanding of our cultural heritage.”
As part of the quarterly closure activities, Fundacion Rancho will organize a unique cultural tour on April 29, officially titled ‘Ban Bek na Raiz’ (Back to Our Roots). The tour is being developed in collaboration with Fundacion InspirARTE Aain from La Guajira, Riohacha, led by cultural partner Maria Isabel Cabarcas.
Rosa explained that the theme ‘Ban Bek na Raiz’ holds special significance due to the large number of Guajiro descendants in Aruba, as well as the long-standing cultural, commercial, and historical ties between Aruba and the Guajira region. The initiative also highlights the importance of strengthening diplomatic and cultural relations.
In cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bogotá, Fundacion Rancho is exploring the possibility of arranging a charter flight from Aruba to Riohacha, enabling broader community participation in the tour.
“Our goal is to bring many of our people together on this journey,” Rosa concluded, “so that we can celebrate, in unity, a moment of shared history and cultural connection.”
