ORANJESTAD (AAN): Construction work on the Bunker Project officially began on Friday, January 23, at Sero Colorado.
The project includes the development of a walking pathway connecting the existing coastal batteries located on the hill. In the central area, a concrete retaining wall will be built to support the creation of a new observation platform, allowing visitors to safely enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area.
The contractor responsible for executing the project is Van Kessel Havenbouw N.V., which has been given a timeline of 60 days to complete the work.
The Department of Public Works (DOW) is advising the general public and tour operators who visit the area to remain cautious, as construction activities are ongoing. Access to the active construction zone is currently restricted for safety reasons.
