The WEB Aruba hearing care awareness program 2026 has been actively educating schoolchildren for the past 16 years on the importance of protecting their hearing. In collaboration with Quota International of Aruba, WEB Aruba continues to deliver awareness sessions to Grade 6 students across primary schools on the island.

According to Glenn Rock of WEB Aruba NV, the initiative focuses on helping children understand the importance of hearing care not only during Carnival season, but also at home and in everyday life. Rock personally visited schools to give engaging talks, stressing that hearing protection is a year-round responsibility.

As part of the WEB Aruba hearing care awareness program 2026, Rock emphasized the importance of conducting hearing tests from early childhood through the time students leave the island to continue their studies abroad. He explained that many children use earbuds daily—while studying, relaxing, and even sleeping—exposing their ears to constant high decibel levels.

Research has shown that by the time many students reach university, hearing damage has already occurred. Rock noted that studies indicate many young adults sitting at the back of lecture halls struggle to hear clearly, often as a result of prolonged earbud use at high volumes.

“For this reason, it is essential to raise awareness among children—not only during Carnival, but continuously—about the harm earbuds can cause to their hearing,” Rock stated.

The WEB Aruba hearing care awareness program 2026 also promotes the use of earplugs during Carnival, fireworks season, and any events involving loud noise. Children are taught about the long-term damage that excessive noise exposure can cause and how simple protective measures can prevent hearing loss.

Rock encouraged students to share the message at home, helping families become more aware of the risks associated with loud noise and unsafe listening habits. He stressed that hearing health is vital and that protecting children’s ears is a shared responsibility within the community.
