ORANJESTAD:
On Tuesday morning at approximately 9:15 a.m., the Police Central Dispatch received a report of a serious traffic accident on the main road of Seroe Teishi.
Initial information indicated that a vehicle had overturned and that the driver was unresponsive. Police units and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene with maximum urgency.
Upon arrival, officers found a blue Toyota Yaris, license plate A-69472, with the driver in critical condition. Paramedics provided immediate medical assistance on site before stabilizing the victim and transporting him urgently to the hospital.
Traffic specialists and forensic police were deployed to conduct a full investigation into the circumstances of the accident. The Victim Support Department was also notified to provide assistance to the victim and his family.
Sadly, police confirmed later that morning that the driver passed away at 8:35 a.m.
The victim has been identified as Ronal Heredia Heredia, born on April 30, 2008, in the Dominican Republic, making him 17 years old.
The Aruba Police Force extends its deepest condolences and strength to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
Tragically, this incident marks the third fatal traffic accident in Aruba within the first seven days of 2026. Authorities are once again urging the community to exercise caution on the roads.
