ORANJESTAD:
The announcement made Tuesday afternoon by AVP party leader Mike Eman, stating that he will step down from his leadership role in September of this year, came as a surprise to many — including Dr. Tico Croes, President of the Henny Eman Foundation.

Dr. Croes was present earlier that day at the official unveiling ceremony of Henny Eman Boulevard when the news broke. Later that evening, he shared his reaction during the television program Noticiacla LIVE, after being asked for comment by host Tito Laclé.

Croes indicated that the announcement caught him off guard, echoing the reaction felt by many within the political and public spheres. His remarks reflected the broader sense of surprise surrounding Eman’s decision, given his prominent role within the Aruban People’s Party (AVP) and the country’s political landscape.

Further reactions and discussions are expected in the coming days as the party and the public reflect on the implications of Mike Eman’s planned departure from party leadership.
