On Monday around 8:30 PM, authorities received reports that a car had struck a woman crossing the road near Playa to Tanki Leendert, in the Solito area.
A police patrol was immediately dispatched, and the Alarm Center sent an ambulance to the scene. The first police unit to arrive found the victim lying on the road in front of Lito Convenience Store. The woman was seriously intoxicated, making communication and emergency response challenging.
The driver of a Hyundai Sonata told police that he was driving south from Tanki Leendert toward Playa when the woman unexpectedly stepped onto the road. She collided with the front and side of the vehicle, suffering injuries.
The traffic police have begun a full investigation, and the woman was transported to the hospital for tests to determine the extent of her injuries.
