ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AAN) — The WEB Aruba water plant project has officially entered its construction phase as WEB Aruba NV advances work on its third desalination facility at the Balashi site.
The new plant, officially named SWRO-3 (Sea Water Reverse Osmosis), is a critical infrastructure project designed to meet Aruba’s growing demand for safe and reliable drinking water.
Construction activities are currently taking place simultaneously on WEB Aruba’s land in Balashi and in the coastal water area directly in front of the existing facilities. Preparatory work began last Saturday, and intensive construction activities will continue over the coming weeks.
WEB Aruba NV has issued a navigation advisory for boat operators in the area, warning that marine works will be ongoing from January 27 through February 6. Vessels are advised to exercise caution when navigating near the WEB facilities along the coast.
Management of the water and electricity plant has apologized for any inconvenience the construction activities may cause and thanked the public for their understanding as Aruba continues to invest in essential water infrastructure.
