ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Waste Container Companies Support Aruba National Clean-Up Day as several private waste management and dumpster rental businesses join the Government of Aruba in preparing for the nationwide clean-up campaign scheduled for Saturday, July 25, 2026.
Prime Minister Mike Eman met with representatives from companies that provide waste container rental services to strengthen cooperation between the government and the private sector ahead of Dia Nacional pa Cuida Aruba (National Day to Care for Aruba).
The meeting focused on ensuring that enough waste containers will be available throughout Aruba during the campaign, making it easier for volunteers to dispose of collected waste responsibly and helping keep the island clean.
Participating companies included SWC Waste Handling & Cleaning, My Container Storage & Dumpster Rental, Johnson’s Enterprises, F. Ruiz Sand Gravel & Equipment N.V., Serlimar, and Quebero Sandblast Painting & Scaffold Services.
Following the meeting, Alejandra Moreno of F. Ruiz Sand Gravel & Equipment N.V. and Luigi Rasmijn of My Container Storage & Dumpster Rental explained that their companies are working together to position waste containers at strategic locations across Aruba during the national clean-up day.
Moreno said the initiative demonstrates how the government and private sector can work together for the benefit of the community. She noted that Arubans have repeatedly shown their willingness to help others, pointing to the recent humanitarian support provided to Venezuela, and said the campaign offers another opportunity to show that same commitment to caring for Aruba.
She also emphasized that protecting Aruba is a shared responsibility that benefits both future generations and the many visitors who enjoy the island each year.
Rasmijn encouraged residents to invite family members, friends, and colleagues to participate in the clean-up effort, saying the campaign is an opportunity for the community to work together while reinforcing the message that keeping Aruba clean is everyone’s responsibility.
The National Day to Care for Aruba is being organized under the slogan “P’ami. P’abo. Pa nos tur.” (For me. For you. For all of us.) The initiative invites residents, businesses, schools, clubs, foundations, and community organizations to take part in a nationwide clean-up on July 25.
Participants are encouraged to select an area to clean, such as neighborhoods, streets, areas surrounding homes or businesses, community centers, sports clubs, beaches, or other public spaces. In addition to improving the island’s appearance, the campaign aims to strengthen public awareness that caring for Aruba’s environment is a shared responsibility.
