ORANJESTAD, Aruba – Police and emergency medical personnel responded Friday morning to a traffic accident involving injuries on Dr. Schaepmanstraat.
According to initial reports, a double-cab pickup truck was traveling from Bernhardstraat onto Dr. Schaepmanstraat when the driver lost control on the wet roadway. The vehicle reportedly skidded and crashed into a light pole.
As a result of the impact, both the driver and a passenger sustained injuries. Paramedics treated the victims at the scene before transporting them to the hospital for further medical care.
ELMAR was notified of the incident and dispatched a team to repair the damage to the light pole and restore electricity service in the area.
Authorities continue to document the circumstances surrounding the accident.
