The Aruba Timeshare Association (ATSA) warmly welcomed invited guests and timeshare partners to the premiere of Aruba Timeshare Evolution, a documentary presented recently at the Marriott Ocean Club Sales Gallery.
The event was attended by Parliament Member Jennifer Arends-Reyes, AHATA CEO Tisa LaSorte, members of ATSA’s board, and various industry partners who contributed to the film’s creation.
The documentary highlights what makes Aruba extraordinary—the deep love and trust shared by everyone who considers the island a home away from home. This sense of belonging forms the foundation of the timeshare industry and continues to inspire its evolution for future generations.
The launch was a collaboration of several stakeholders who honored the legacy of the industry’s early pioneers. Aruba’s success in the timeshare sector would not have been possible without the combined efforts of its tourism leaders, who shaped a future that benefits visitors, the economy, and the local community.
ATSA President Sulaika Kelly emphasized the need to acknowledge the dynamic changes happening around the world.
“Previous generations built the foundation for what we have today, and we are deeply grateful. Their dedication made Aruba a leader in innovation, opening the door to the timeshare concept,” Kelly said.
She expressed her appreciation: “Thank you for your courage and your vision.”
Kelly also highlighted how visitor expectations are changing in a constantly evolving world. Modern travelers seek more experiences, sustainability, and innovation. Aruba must adapt and modernize to remain at the forefront of hospitality excellence.
The documentary was created by creative director Tina Bislick in collaboration with videographer Tyler Cavallaro.
They curated archival materials and conducted interviews with timeshare employees, managers, and owners. The film also features a lively conversation with one of Aruba’s timeshare pioneers, Raymond Maduro, showcasing the industry’s essential role in making Aruba the beloved destination it is today.
Videographer Tyler Cavallaro brought a modern perspective that beautifully aligned past, present, and future. The documentary presents a complete and updated island experience through the eyes of today’s timeshare owners.
It also highlights one of the industry’s greatest strengths—the deep affection timeshare owners have for Aruba. For many, the island is not just a vacation spot; it is a second home. They return year after year, drawn by the warmth of Aruba’s people, the beauty of the island, and the unmistakable feeling of “this is where I belong.” This loyalty reflects Aruba’s unique magic and the heart of its hospitality culture.
Kelly stated that Aruba is unique for paving the way for timeshare to become a pillar of tourism. Its authenticity and strength will guide the island as it moves confidently into the future.
The launch event was hosted by the management team of Marriott Ocean Club—Pedro Vargas, Ligenne Trimon, and Roderick Schwengle—with exceptional catering by Campeones Cantina and a premium bar serving delicious selections.
In her closing remarks, Kelly noted that Aruba’s tourism industry continues to advance but must always remember that progress is born from collaboration—and the future belongs to those who prepare for it today.
The documentary will soon be available on YouTube for viewers around the world. After the presentation, guests also had the pleasure of greeting Raymond Maduro, who shared insights into how he introduced the timeshare concept to Aruba.
