On Monday, May 25, 2026, the Directie Arbeid en Onderzoek (DAO), alongside Minister of Tourism, Transport, and Labor Wendrick Cicilia, announced the opening of the second location of the ‘Tienda Legal Laboral’ (TLL). The soft opening of this pilot project took place at MFA Paradera, marking a significant step in making labor advice more accessible to citizens.
The initiative represents a shift from reactive conflict resolution to proactive prevention. By functioning as a central information center, the TLL aims to educate employees and employers about their rights and duties early on. DAO believes this approach will contribute to a healthier and more transparent labor market in Aruba.
With the new site at MFA Paradera (Paradera 145-C) joining the first location in MFA Savaneta, the service is physically present in local neighborhoods to lower the barrier to seeking support. The TLL is guided by five pillars: Justice, Professional, Serviceable, Uniform, and Accessible. Staff are prepared to assist with questions regarding salary payments, labor contracts, and conflict mediation.
Services begin on Tuesday, May 26, operating on an intake basis. The goal is to attend to citizens immediately based on availability or to help schedule an appointment for a later time. The Department of Labor and Investigation invites the community to visit these locations to utilize the new resources available in their district.
