STREA Deportivo returned to Aruba’s sports calendar with a Sunday ceremony at the Renaissance Convention Center recognizing people who stood out during the 2025 sports year.
Awards program returns after 20 years
According to 24ora, the national recognition program returned after a 20-year absence under the updated STREA Deportivo name. The initiative was previously known as Premio Excelencia den Deporte and retains its purpose of recognizing athletic achievement and contributions to sports development.
Sports Minister Gerlien Croes formally opened the ceremony and said the event was intended to place athletes and sports professionals at the center of public attention. She emphasized the training, discipline and sacrifice behind sporting results.
