Signature Campaign Collects 6,424 Signatures in First Three Weeks

In just the first three weeks, the signature campaign has delivered tremendous results. Already, 6,424 people have signed. The action will continue until the day the debate takes place in Parliament,” announced MEP leader Evelyn Wever-Croes.

Over the past three weeks, volunteers have visited neighborhoods to provide information and gather signatures against the HOFA Rijkswet, after the AVP-Futuro government submitted the law “like a thief in the night.”

According to Wever-Croes, this was done without providing information, without consultation, and worst of all, without any dialogue.

Because of this, thousands of parents, families, and young people have voiced strong opposition, declaring loudly that they do not accept what the government has done. Citizens stressed that such an important law cannot be imposed without transparency, consultation, or public debate.

Many also expressed their disapproval of transferring Aruba’s autonomous authority into the hands of the Netherlands, especially without gaining anything in return.
