Oranjestad — A collision between two vehicles at the intersection of Rudolf Arendstraat and Emmastraat left one driver injured Wednesday afternoon, requiring emergency response.
Police and ambulance personnel were dispatched to the scene following reports of the accident shortly after it occurred.
According to initial reports, the incident involved a Nissan Frontier pickup truck traveling on Rudolf Arendstraat and a Toyota Ractis approaching from the north. The pickup driver failed to yield the right of way to the Ractis at the intersection.
The Toyota Ractis subsequently struck the rear portion of the pickup truck on the side. The driver of the Ractis sustained injuries in the collision and was treated by ambulance personnel at the scene.
Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
