The 3rd edition of the Caribbean Village Food Festival at the Brood Fabriek in Rijswijk became a massive celebration of culture and brotherhood. With over 40 regional food stands and a completely sold-out venue, the event culminated with an electrifying performance by Jeon, who shared the stage with talents like Chris Strick, IssaBeach, Kleine John and many more. Jeon, our national pride, highlighted the feeling of unity among the islands: ‘Today I felt the union between the Dutch Caribbean; we created an even bigger Caribedag than an Arubadag.’ During the show, Jeon wore the official uniform of the Curaçao national team (Blue Wave), a collaboration with Adidas, showing his support for the team heading to the 2026 World Cup. The artist also announced that he is working on his ‘best album’ and a special project in Portuguese for the Brazilian market. Chris Strick thanked the audience for his support during his tour in the Netherlands and confirmed that he will soon launch a limited edition of his popular hats for the World Cup. IssaBeach also took advantage of the platform to announce her new album and a musical launch at the end of May. The festival not only delighted visitors’ palates but also served as an emotional farewell for the Curaçao national team. Among music, flavors and the ‘Michael Jackson vibe’ that Jeon brought to the stage, the evening was marked as a symbol of the strength and talent of our region in Europe, not forgetting the masterful performance of the legendary Lord Cachete.
