Norwegian Prima Cancels Aruba Port Call For January 2027 after Norwegian Cruise Line announced changes to one of its Caribbean itineraries because of updated port availability in Oranjestad.
The itinerary change affects a seven-night Caribbean cruise departing from San Juan, Puerto Rico, on January 31, 2027. The ship was originally scheduled to visit Aruba on February 3, 2027, but the stop has been removed from the voyage.
According to Norwegian Cruise Line, the adjustment was necessary after updated information regarding port availability. The cruise line stated that while itineraries are coordinated well in advance with port authorities, operational conditions can change, occasionally resulting in the loss of available docking space.
The Norwegian Prima Cancels Aruba Port Call For January 2027 decision means passengers will no longer visit Oranjestad during this sailing. Instead, the itinerary has been modified to include Philipsburg, St. Maarten.
Under the revised schedule, February 3 will become a sea day, while February 4, originally planned as a sea day, will now feature a port call in Philipsburg from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Norwegian Cruise Line did not specify the exact reason behind the port availability issue. However, operational changes such as berth congestion, maintenance work, or infrastructure projects can occasionally affect cruise schedules. Aruba is currently carrying out a long-term waterfront revitalization project that may influence port operations during certain phases.
The remainder of the cruise itinerary remains unchanged, with scheduled visits to Willemstad, Curaçao; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Tortola, British Virgin Islands.
The Norwegian Prima Cancels Aruba Port Call For January 2027 announcement does not include compensation for affected passengers, as cruise contracts generally allow itinerary changes when operational circumstances require them. Guests who booked shore excursions in Aruba through Norwegian Cruise Line will receive automatic refunds for those excursions.
According to the current sailing schedule, Norwegian Prima is expected to return to Aruba on March 11, 2027, for its next planned visit to Oranjestad.
Passengers who no longer wish to travel on the modified itinerary may still cancel their cruise under Norwegian Cruise Line’s standard cancellation policy, provided they do so within the applicable cancellation period before departure.
