Aruba Sends First Humanitarian Medical Team To Venezuela as the island’s first humanitarian response group arrived in Venezuela to assist communities affected by the recent powerful earthquake.

The first deployment consists of 11 volunteers who traveled aboard a Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard Dash-8 aircraft. The team landed at Maiquetía International Airport, where they were welcomed by representatives of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Caracas and officials from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

The Aruba Sends First Humanitarian Medical Team To Venezuela mission follows several days of planning and coordination between the Government of Aruba, the Crisis Management Office (CMO), the Aruba Red Cross, the Dutch Embassy in Caracas, and international humanitarian partners.

Medical Assistance and Initial Assessment

The first response team is made up of healthcare professionals and disaster response volunteers with experience in humanitarian emergencies. During the initial phase of the mission, the team will:

  • Assess conditions in the affected areas.
  • Establish essential logistical support.
  • Provide immediate medical assistance.
  • Identify additional humanitarian needs for future deployments.

The information gathered by the team will help guide the next group of medical personnel that the Government of Aruba is preparing to deploy in the coming days.

Additional Humanitarian Support Planned

The Aruba Sends First Humanitarian Medical Team To Venezuela initiative represents the first phase of Aruba’s humanitarian response. Government officials confirmed that additional medical teams and relief supplies will be mobilized based on the needs identified by the advance team on the ground.

Prime Minister Mike Eman thanked the volunteers and professionals who accepted the mission, praising their dedication and commitment to representing Aruba during a humanitarian emergency.

According to the Prime Minister, Aruba shares a long-standing historical and humanitarian relationship with Venezuela and remains committed to providing assistance whenever possible.

The Aruba Sends First Humanitarian Medical Team To Venezuela mission demonstrates Aruba’s contribution to the international relief effort while continuing to coordinate closely with humanitarian organizations and government partners working to support earthquake-affected communities.
