New SVT Graduates Celebrate Success and Personal Growth

A new group of young people has officially graduated from Aruba’s Social Formation (SVT) program, marking an important milestone in their personal and professional journeys. During the graduation ceremony, Prime Minister Mike Eman congratulated the graduates and praised their dedication, discipline, and perseverance throughout the program.

The SVT program is designed for youth between 17 and 25 years old and focuses on building discipline, self-confidence, and employability. It combines intensive training with ARUMIL and practical internships at local companies, helping participants prepare for the job market or further education. More than 80% of graduates successfully move on to paid employment or continue their studies after completing the program. Originally created only for young men, the SVT initiative has since expanded to include separate sessions for young women as well, making the opportunity more inclusive.

The program is divided into two main phases. The first phase, held at the Marinierskazerne in Savaneta under ARUMIL supervision, lasts about 16 weeks and emphasizes physical training, discipline, structure, and respect. The second phase brings classroom learning together with internships at businesses across Aruba, giving participants hands-on experience, professional skills, and a clearer sense of direction for their future careers.

Many graduates expressed heartfelt gratitude for the chance to participate in SVT. They shared how the program helped them grow, opened new doors, and gave them the confidence to take the next steps in their lives. For these young Arubans, SVT has been more than a program—it has been a turning point toward a brighter and more independent future.
