ORANJESTAD (AAN) / THE HAGUE – Mrs. Carnival Crowned for Kingdoms Under the Sun during a special ceremony at the Aruba House (Gabinete di Aruba) in The Hague, where Minister Plenipotentiary Mildred Schwengle officially crowned Yolène Felipa-Lobato as Mrs. Carnival for the Aruba carnival group Kingdoms Under the Sun.
The ceremony brought together several prominent members of the Aruba carnival community, including Kingdoms Under the Sun founder and leader Rossini van Wijk, Aruba Carnival Queen Gabriela Croes, Mrs. Carnival Kingdoms 2025 Angela Erasmus, Kingdoms Children’s Queen Leya Wanga, and Kingdoms King 2026 Hubert Rivero.
During the event, Minister Schwengle thanked Rossini van Wijk and everyone involved with Kingdoms Under the Sun for their continued dedication to promoting Aruba’s carnival culture in the Netherlands.
The gathering also included discussions about the important role that carnival plays in bringing together the Aruban community abroad while preserving the island’s cultural traditions.
This year marks a significant milestone for Kingdoms Under the Sun, as the organization celebrates 25 years of participation in the Rotterdam Summer Carnival (Zomercarnaval Rotterdam), one of Europe’s largest Caribbean cultural festivals.
The group’s anniversary coincides with this weekend’s edition of the Rotterdam Summer Carnival, where Kingdoms Under the Sun will once again represent Aruba’s vibrant carnival heritage on the international stage.
