Man Arrested in Calbas Suspicious Death : ORANJESTAD (AAN) – A rapid investigation by the Aruba Police Force has led to the detention of a 44-year-old man in connection with the suspicious death of an elderly woman in the Calbas district of Noord.
The police central office received a notification at approximately 7:53 a.m. on Monday regarding a woman who was not showing signs of life inside a home in Calbas. Police and ambulance personnel were dispatched to the location immediately. When authorities arrived, the victim’s son informed them that his mother was not reacting. Despite the efforts of ambulance staff to revive her, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dr. Texier confirmed the identity of the deceased as 73-year-old C.R. Piñero, born in Venezuela. Because of the circumstances surrounding the incident, the Recherche department, the Technical Police Unit (BFTO), and a forensic doctor began an extensive investigation to determine if there were indications of a criminal act. During the process, authorities received information suggesting the death was possibly not natural.
Shortly thereafter, the Recherche department arrested the victim’s son, identified as E.E.B.P., as a suspect in the case. During the police operation, an ambulance returned to the scene to provide medical assistance to the suspect, who was then transported to receive treatment. The investigation into the incident is currently ongoing. The Cuerpo Policial Aruba has expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased.
