Though small in size, Aruba continues to produce individuals who leave a big impact on the global stage. From cultural ambassadors to sports legends and community champions, these local heroes are proving that greatness can come from even the smallest islands. Let’s meet some of Aruba’s shining stars:

🎤 Edjean Semeleer – Performing Artist & Cultural Icon

With over 30 years in music and entertainment, Edjean has captivated audiences with his smooth vocals and heartfelt performances, including his iconic Christmas concerts “Hey… ta Pasco!”. Co-founder of the Go Cultura Foundation, Edjean is dedicated to empowering Aruba’s creative sector and mentoring the next generation of artists.

👑 Kiara Arends – Miss Universe Aruba 2022 & Legal Advocate

A master’s graduate in international business law and founder of BUMP, a charity for young mothers, Kiara is a symbol of grace, intellect, and social impact. Now a legal professional at Kloes Kock and Partners, she’s determined to create meaningful change through the law.
Her inspiration? Her dedicated mother, and her drive to lift others.
💬 “Education paves the way to freedom.”

⚾ Xander Bogaerts – MLB Star & Community Champion

With two World Series titles and a place on the MLB All-Star team, Xander is a proud Aruban athlete currently playing for the San Diego Padres. Together with his mother, he co-founded the Dare to Dream Foundation, providing young Aruban athletes with equipment, scholarships, and hope.
